Ambient Digital can transfer older vinyl records (including 78rpm discs) and tapes (cassette and reel-to-reel) to CD. Priceless or out of print material can be transferred to a ProTools24 system using 24 bit analog to digital converters where noise, crackles, and pops can be subdued or removed completely in the digital domain. Specialized software finds the offensive clicks, removes them, analyzes the program material, calculates what was originally there, and seemlessly replaces it.

The audio workstation can also subdue distracting noise by analyzing the program material and creating a "noise signature." It can then be drastically reduced with very little effect on the material. Utilizing the power that only a digital audio workstation provides, all of these processes can be performed multiple times in one pass providing for drastic improvements. All processing is done in real time with 24 bit precision. (No step is ever made with less than 24 bit accuracy.) This means that you can rest assured that every effort is made to preserve and enhance your recordings every step of the way. The finished product is then burned onto a Compact Disc for worry-free listening and safekeeping. You won't believe you're listening to your old records and tapes!

When unwanted electrical or air conditioning hum sneaks into recordings, much of it can be removed while in the digital domain again using special software that works wonders on these unique problems. Room noise can often be subdued. In many cases distracting sounds can be reduced allowing you to hear what you really want to hear!
